Humayun-nama

Humayun-nama

Gul-Badan-Begam

Gul Badan Begum, daughter of Babar and the real sister of Hindal, wrote this book in Persian during the reign of Akbar. Humyun had great regards for Gul Badan Begum but she was very sad due to mutual jealousies and bickering among his brother. She remained in Kabul with Kamaran for a pretty long period and came to Hindustan after the death of Humayun. She completed Humayun-nama between A.D. 1580 to 1590 on the persuasion of Emperor Akbar. Before mentioning anything about Humayun she wrote about the character and personality of Babar, her father his behavior towards relatives, important event of his reign and about the sickness of death of Babar. She also mentioned various events of the reign of Humayun uup to A.D. 1555. Dr. Qanungo has praised this work of Begum Gul Badan  very much for its exact chronology.
